Job Description

Strategic and tactical responsibility for implementing manufacturing strategy and strategic operational goals to exceed customer expectations for product quality, cost and delivery, maximising efficiency, optimising production levels and driving operational excellence. Work closely with internal and external key stakeholders, regarding technical support for activities, striving for best in class products and business practices to deliver to the customer’s expectations, managing teams and projects across the business. Provide clear leadership and vision, inspire and motivate staff to achieve excellence and mentor them as they develop new skills. Drive Key Performance Indicators across all areas of the Manufacturing function to ensure that all projects are delivered on cost and on time to the highest quality standards. Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental issues are prioritised and facilitated, direct and drive implementation of Lean Business strategy and drive Continuous Improvement across all manufacturing related areas of the business

Key Responsibilities:-

  • Plant expansion and consolidation
  • Ensures the safe operation of the factory centers and the safety of Dover Fueling Solutions employees. Effectively implements “Zero Harm at work” mission.
  • Support, comply and ensure complicity with Health & Safety regulations, Quality and Environmental standards, and all other Company policies and procedures.
  • Oversee Safety, Production, Planning, Quality, Supply Chain, logistics, Factory Administration, Inside Sales, Customer Service and Manufacturing Engineering; all relating to the operations of the dispenser manufacturing
  • Create and implement best practice manufacturing vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve business performance.
  • Ensure that manufacturing strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality and delivery targets and which enables the company to function and compete effectively in the market.
  • Evaluate the challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities. Contribute to overall business strategy and Annual forecast numbers.
  • Lead, develop and implement variable cost productivity programmes across all areas of responsibility, Implement a customer focused operational culture delivering world class customer product levels.
  • Develop and manage master production schedule and operations budgets for products to directly support and ensure that the product is delivered to agreed cost, quality and timelines.
  • Plan and execute maintenance activity to ensure plant is kept safe and compliant. Drive improvements in reliability for key aspects of machinery by completing reliability studies and identifying best planned maintenance strategy.
  • Supports the implementation and training of continuous improvement principles within the shop floor environment. Implements best practices and improvements that have been identified by Dover Fueling solutions employees and management.
  • Supports people managers and supervisors in the accomplishment of daily/weekly & quarterly activities as outlined in the Leader Standard Work.
  • Promotes the utilization of statistical and process visual measurements to manage the operation and deliver customer satisfaction and world class quality.
  • Champions process improvement and lean manufacturing activities; oversees the implementation of best practices across manufacturing/repair operations.
  • Complies with all Factories Act, State, and Local labor laws, environmental regulations, OSHA compliance and City ordinances , Safety management.
  • Coordinates resources to satisfy both internal and external customers; to deliver superior products and quality service in a fast-paced environment that meets or exceeds the customer’s expectations.
  • Directs all operations departments including machining, assembly, logistics, quality, process improvement, and materials; directs operating personnel in optimization of plant facilities and assigns maintenance priorities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance. Proactively work with product line management, engineering, service and other departments to incorporate best practices into the manufacturing environment.
  • Work with the Sr. Director /GM Sales & Aftermarket to make operational adjustments as necessary by reviewing/owning the P&L Statements, Sales Reports, and daily reports to insure continued growth in productivity/efficiency.
  • Assist the Sr. Director /GM Aftermarket & finance team in developing & executing an accurate manning, operating expense, and capital expenditure budgets.
  • Develop capital equipment requirements and justifications.
  • Assume overall responsibility for safety performance, productivity performance, delivery performance and production quality.
  • Directs, coaches, and develops managers; sets goals in training and development, performance, and career planning by leveraging strong problem-solving and conflict resolution capabilities.
  • Work effectively in a matrix organizational structure.
  • Champion performance management and training initiatives.
  • Maintain productive relationships with external customers including; marketing/commercial group, contractors, engineering, vendors, government agencies, and regulatory agencies.
  • Provide leadership to departments under control and coach, mentor and develop direct reports and manage a high performing team that delivers continuous improvement, added value and cost reductions.
  • Establish strategy and best practices for staff to ensure achievement of overall business objectives. Work with the Manufacturing team to translate site strategy into specific annual performance goals and departmental objectives including KPIs, and to track them, Set department objectives and monitor ongoing progress and performance.
  • Ensure strong communication between teams under leadership to facilitate exchange of information and in order to implement change and improvements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent business & financial acumen coupled with deep understanding of P&L statements.

Education and Experience:-

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Production- Operations / Educated to degree level (preferably Masters) in a relevant engineering /manufacturing discipline.
  • 15+ years of leadership role in operation / process orientation relevant experience required.
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing/repair of reciprocating compressor components preferred.
  • Good experience in Audit, Lean management, Six Sigma, Kaizen & Factory administration ( including approvals and regulatory ).
