Job Description

  • As a Director, you will lead the technology area, Energy Storage System (ESS), responsible for the development of battery modules, packs and other related components and systems for the electric vehicle driveline in cooperation with colleagues within the electromobility team in your own department as well as globally with sister-teams in Sweden. As well as with the customers and stakeholders within the Volvo community.
  • You will be managing multiple cross-function delivery teams internally and work closely with our key suppliers. You will focus on technology development and building high-performance culture to maximize efforts across teams. You will build knowledge, capacity and capability within teams, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and life-long learning. You are technology driven, comfortable in leading change, customer oriented, supportive and a good coach for the teams as well as leader of teams.
  • You will be part of the Electromobility Leadership team, reporting to Vice President Electromobility, India. Playing an important role and contributing in setting vision, strategy and be part of the growth story.
  • We believe that you have previous experience from being a leader in any form, prefers a value-based leadership and that you have product development experience of Electrical & Electronics Hardware, Battery Management Systems, software development for Energy Storage Systems. Experience from a work environment where lean principles and agile development is a merit.

Qualification And Experience:-

  • Bachelors or a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrochemistry or equivalent. A PhD in a relevant area is a merit
  • 15+ year experience from product development in the automotive/transport industry
  • Broad experience of control system and function development in highly complex systems is required
  • Significant working experience with battery cells, battery management system and battery module/pack design.
  • Good knowledge of electromobility, batteries and battery health monitoring system.
  • Knowledge of data analytics is a plus.
  • Experience from maintenance and quality work is a merit.
  • Strong drive and energy level with ability to create a high performing working culture

  • Experience from product development preferably on a modular and reuse-level
  • Experience from being a leader of people and technology
