Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a Safety Equipment Design Engineer to join our dynamic team to work with all mechanical components relevant to Wind Turbines.

To be Successful in this role, you must:-

Education:

  • Graduate/Postgraduate in Mechanical engineering (~Total experience: 6 – 8 years)
  • Previous experience: At least 4 years in the field of relevant Safety Equipment Design.
    • (E.g. Turbo machinery or Heavy Machinery) along with good Mechanical background Knowledge.

Technical knowledge:-

  • Good in understanding the Component designs and Safety Equipment requirements, Product structure, different manufacturing processes.                                                     
  • Tools: PLM (Team center) & Cad Tools (Nx)
  • Preferable domains: Wind turbine, Heavy Engineering, Power sector.

Information technology:-

  • Advanced in Excel (macros, dynamic tables and graphics…)
  • PLM (Teamcenter)

Activities & Functions:-

  • Exposure and having deep Knowledge to different International codes and standards like CAP437, Industrial safety and mechanical designs.
  • Independent and self-driven by taking in charge of safety requirements related to Turbine components. If required, by scoping and delivering the specifications related to safety.
  • Experience in developing concepts for mechanical components and drawings
  • Experience In design of bolted/welded constructions.
  • Good knowledge of specifying realistic tolerances using GPS/GD&T
  • Good understanding of FMEA and Risk Assessments
  • Drive technical solutions and reviews with internal design team and multiple sub-suppliers and solution providers
  • Designing wind turbine components (Safety Equipment) to meet the design requirements such as functionality, robustness, cost effectiveness etc.,                                    
  • Experience in 3D/2D designs in software like pro-e/inventor/NX
  • Working knowledge on PLM / Engineering Change Management process
  • Design for manufacturing, assembly and service requirements
  • Participate in the follow-up meetings.
  • Material and documentation creation.
  • Create and maintain the guidelines, procedures and tools of configuration management area.
  • Need to have close network towards Offshore EHS team in fulfilling the safety requirements.
  • Ensure good communication with the many stakeholders located around the globe
  • Point of contact with different supplies wrt specification and quality
  • Ensure to have the holistic overview of all the critical components in the turbines.
  • Support and guide different business units like R&D, production, installation and service related to Safety Equipment.
