Job Description

Objective:-

Design Engineer ED/EH participates in end-to-end process of an assigned industrial project from technical and time point of view, accomplish professional engineering work in a specific work package (WP) or the complete project during a project execution.
She/ he should be able to technically assist during a project execution engineering and factory and on site testing, participate in international complex and big and middle-sized projects and works in international environment.
With independence of action, in a specific knowledge area, will be required to assume full responsibility over a technical delivery for a single or multiple WPs in a project.

Skills and experiences:-

  • Good knowledge of IEC standardization in the field of LV & MV Switchgears, Transformers, Power converters (UPS/VFD), generally low & medium voltage networks.
  • Experience in LV & MV motor controls;
  • Experience in designing MV/LV Switchgears as per major international standards and requirepemtn of major international projects and/ or working with major Switchgears vendors to prepare tender offers & execution docucmention;
  • Experience in substation engineering: Layouts & sections, cable engineering (cable schedules, cable routing and supporting technologies, termination kits, control cable termination diagrams), installation of Switchgears and Transformers, MV & LV buswys, heat load estimation, auxiliary load estimation, AC & DC UPS systems.
  • Essential: understanding of Power System studies;  desirable – some expertise and practical experience;
  • Desirable: experience in LV & MV drives, power factor improvement and harmonic mitigation equipment.
  • Essential- high level skills in MS Excel, Word, power point, Desirable – some drafting skills in AutoCAD, Visio.

Main responsibilities:-

  • Engineering and schedule of technical deliverables during a project execution phase of an international industrial project

Technical Responsibilities:-

  • Assuming technical responsibility for a complete subset of Project Technical delivery: understanding customer requirements (specifications, drawings, contractual obligations), working with Schneider and non-Schneider suppliers and subcontractors, overview of testing and commissioning in factory and at site.
  • Ensuring quality (content, timing, costs) of the deliverables, documentation and studies
  • Forwarding reports to the Design Leader or Technical Leader or Project manager
  • Writing technical specifications and design notes
  • Performing design studies and details studies if required
  • Participating in design meetings
  • Preparing FAT and participate if needed
  • Participating actively in the capitalization and sharing of experience
  • Contributing to technical innovation and productivity
  • Improving the level of customer satisfaction

Responsibilities in terms of quality and safety/security:-

  • Implementation of international ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 18000 HSE and ISO14000 environmental standards
  • Fully respect to Safety standards during all project execution

Education & requirements:-

  • Minimum- B.E. or equivalent in Electrical Power Engineering or Electrical, electronics & communication engineering; Masters level is desirable;
  • Flexibility & Reliability, Customer focus, Quality – focus on technical details, Team player, ownership of delivery.
    * Effective communication (with customers, suppliers, field services team, supply chain, project management in a project team)
  • Ability to work and cooperate in international and inter-cultural environment
  • ICT literacy: MS Office, Acrobat, AutoCAD, Power electric systems knowledge
  • Language: English another global language is advantage
  • Willingness to travel up to 15-30%
