Job Description

The company is looking to recruit an ambitious and energetic professional to join its Deal and Capital Structuring team working to maximise the profitability and robustness of candi’s products whilst optimizing the cost and terms of capital to finance those products, thereby helping candi to lead the revolution of solar for SMEs. The successful applicant will be working on projects globally across India, South Africa and the other jurisdictions in Asia and Africa in which candi will operate in the future. Given that candi is taking solar into a new realm with a new set of tools, the role will require creativity, innovation and a new way of thinking.

Specifically, the job involves working on the following aspects of financial transactions entered into by candi globally, either with clients (PPAs and similar instruments) or with external providers of funding:

  • Performing financial, structuring and legal analysis on deals to come up with optimal solutions
  • Preparing, reviewing and negotiating legal documentation with external parties
  • Supporting with the management of larger transactions, coordinating stakeholders, processes and any aspect requiring attention (e.g. credit risk, tax, regulations, etc.) in order to successfully close
  • Developing and maintaining financial models Developing and maintaining template legal documentation for candi’s products
  • Conceptualising new products which make sense for clients, taking into account the changing technological and competitive landscape, and implementing those that make sense
  • Developing a portfolio view of the group’s transactions, encompassing both the uses and sources of funds (i.e. the client transactions and the funding raised)
  • Working to optimise candi’s operations in terms of tax, cost of funding, credit risk and other aspects that may have a material impact on financial performance
  • Working closely with Credit, Product Engineering and Asset Management in order to successfully perform the above

Job Requirements:-

  • 3-6 years of experience in financial structuring at a financial institution, corporate or law firm
  • An affinity for numbers and quantitative matters, being very comfortable with financial models
  • Experience with legal documentation – i.e. an ability to review contracts and some experience in negotiating them with third parties
  • Some understanding of solar financial products under the PPA (or similar) model is a plus
  • Being good at juggling multiple transactions and projects at the same time
  • Being at ease with coordinating and interacting with various stakeholders (internal and external)
  • A track record of thriving in a fast-paced environment and an ability to work towards and hit KPIs
  • Being a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Being very comfortable working in the digital realm, using tools such as Microsoft Office / Google suite and other remote working tools
  • Being capable of creating professional marketing materials in Microsoft PPT & Office
  • Excellent written and spoken English required, additional languages are a plus
  • A degree in finance, business, law or related qualifying experience
