Category Specialist

This is a Category Specialist role, reporting to the Local Division Supply Chain Management (SCM) Manager in Business Area – Motion located in Faridabad. You will be responsible for developing, planning and implementing SCM strategy focused on optimizing costs, quality, delivery and reliability of suppliers and supplied products for an assigned category or group of categories.

Responsibilities:-

• Leveraging the Continuous Improvement Process Sourcing (CIPS) process, implementing effective sourcing strategies in line with business strategy ensuring that the supply base/suppliers have the capability and capacity to meet current and future business requirements.
• Ensuring all relevant parties understand strategies and execute processes accordingly.
• Negotiating agreements with main suppliers, and periodically renews price lists, terms and conditions. leading supplier negotiation to meet optimum pricing.
• Adapting corporate contractual framework to the local business needs.
• Recommending frame agreements to management and executes upon approval.
• Provides ongoing oversight and contract management with suppliers.
• Ensuring identification, investigation, and selection of appropriate suppliers (focusing on quality, delivery, cost and sustainability) in accordance with Company policies. Defines and establishes local standard agreements with all major suppliers.
• Applying and implementing SCM standards, tools, and processes focused on business continuity for the assigned commodity or group of commodities. (Supplier Risk Management).
• Contributing to and participating in setting and implementing budget and targets within the framework.
• Ensuring the category sourcing performance targets are achieved (Cost Reduction, Cash Improvement).
• Ensuring with HR Manager support that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed.
• Guiding, motivating and developing direct and indirect subordinates within HR policies and group SCM excellence guidelines (knowledge management, functional training, etc.).

Your background:-

• B.E/ B. Tech in Electrical / Mechanical or equivalent.
• Minimum 10-15 years of experience in strategic function from Low Voltage (LV) motor back ground.
• SAP Materials Module.
• Must have strong negotiation and contracts, supplier agreement.
• Must have worked on commodity working such as RM Electrical Steel, Copper, Shaft, Bearings, Sheet Metal, Insulation Paper & Castings.
• Experience in SCM Policy Implementation.
• Collaboration with Global Commodity SCM Team.
• Focus on cost reduction of product and new vendor development.
