Job Description

Responsibilities:-

  • Supporting the development and implementation of sourcing strategies in close alignment with the global Category leader, for EMS and Electronic components, ensuring that Tier-2 and distribution channels can meet current and future business requirements
  • Monitoring and reporting the lifecycle status of Electronic Components, including risks of availability, Lead Time changes, Phase-out, Prices variations and report to the P&L and R&D community for new product developments and for current products
  • Leading escalations to Tier-2 suppliers / ElCo manufacturers as well as Mitigation plans, including the identification (RFI / RFQ) of any critical component availability in the spot / free market
  • Leading periodical review calls with the main Electronics components manufacturers and check production capacity, orders prioritization and quantity allocation to the ABB production plants
  • Supporting and preparing negotiations with main manufacturers as part of the ABB global Electronic Components network
  • Supporting the regional Category Managers EMS during sourcing projects (RFQ/RFP/RFI) with insight of the Electronic Components situation

Qualification And Experience:-

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related disciplines
  • 5/8 years of experience in sourcing and supply chain management in Electronics ( active/passive , sensor, IC’s, discrete Semiconductor, PCB’s, Electromechanical Devices, connectors etc. ) in global and multinational companies
  • Experience in R&D as designer of Electronics components considering as plus
  • Proven experience of managing a spend volume (both direct and indirect) in the range of several millions
  • Knowledge of SAP Ariba, Silicon Expert, IHS Markit software, Octopart
  • A solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken and teamwork, organizational skills
  • Experience in a highly international and multi-cultural environment
  • Flexibility to travel up to 20%
