You will be responsible for business development, work winning and client relations for Buro Happold’s Indian offices but also have a regional role in marketing, leading Buro Happold India’s thought leadership and service offer program.

You will work with regional discipline leadership in networking, lead generation and research, and work to enhance the Buro Happold brand. The role will work across the Indian region and involve collaboration with office leaders and work winners. This role is responsible for ensuring that Buro Happold, its service offers, and its people are positioned in all regional markets and in the minds of clients in the best possible light.

Whilst the role will be extremely varied, your responsibilities can typically be expected to comprise the following:-

  • Collaborate with the Managing Director and Regional Discipline Leads to create and ensure a focused and strategic business development (BD) vision for the Indian offices.
  • Work with leadership team to establish strategy and tactical business development plans.
  • Work with leadership to execute business development efforts, market new opportunities, win projects and increase market share; utilizing market, and corporate resources.
  • Identify potential clients, provide research on decision making and develop strategies to position Buro Happold to win work.
  • Work with leadership to identify and track targets and leads, ensure go/no go decision making takes place and prepare weekly/monthly BD reports.
  • Research market trends and projections to understand market impact, potential client opportunities, competition, etc.
  • Build and enhance the Buro Happold brand in marketplace by active participation in appropriate organizations and conferences; establishing and maintaining significant contacts with current and potential clients, contractors, consultants, and vendors.
  • Advocate and encourage positive client relationships through active development of client education and retention events.
  • Be actively involved in professional and community institutions within the India region.
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, help to identify the firm’s unique selling propositions and differentiators that support our world-class brand.

As an experienced Business Development professional, we expect you to demonstrate the following:-

  • Business development experience within a similar sector – real estate, construction or engineering consultancy.
  • Proven track record of winning work and generating leads in the Indian real estate industry (built environment or infrastructure).
  • Ability to network positive business leads with the relevant discipline to close the deal.
  • Strong influencing skills and the ability to form relationships across all levels of the business.
  • Good computer and IT skills and the ability to conduct basic data analysis.
  • Organised and methodical approach to tasks.
  • Confident, proactive character, with the ability to take the lead in challenging situations.
  • Ability to problem solve and think on your feet.
  • Experience in the aviation design sector would be advantageous.
