Job Description

Burns & McDonnell India has an exciting opportunity for Process Engineer interested in growing their careers in one of the fast-paced company involved in high tech building design and construction. We are multi-discipline team that provides engineering services for facilities projects in the North America region which includes facilities including hyperscale data centers, food & consumer product, pharmaceutical, life sciences, healthcare, manufacturing, airports, and institutional facilities.

Process Engineer is responsible to develop designs for food production, consumer products, pharmaceutical industry and chemical processing assigned by the USA-based Process team Manager. Process Engineer will lead the project team throughout the design process, adapting mechanical plans according to budget constraints, design factors or client needs. Experience preferred with food & consumer product facilities including but not limited to: Heat and Mass Balance, PFD, PID, Process calculations etc.

Job Duties:

  • Lead process design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project managers.
  • Assists in the development of Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Heat and Material Balances (HMB) and Utility Summaries. Requires the use of AutoCAD for PFDs and the development of HMB in either Microsoft Excel or Aspen Hysys.
  • Assists in maintenance of Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) during the initial development through construction phases of the project. Work on P&IDs will include development of equipment, instrument, valve, tie-in, and piping specials lists. Requires the use of AutoCAD Plant 3D.
  • Assists in the process calculations to support equipment sizing and the development equipment data sheets.
  • Supports the development of instrument specifications, including preferred vendor lists, definition of the preferred instrument models, and development of instrument data sheets.
  • Build effective relationships with existing clients, customers and contractors and develop new business opportunities. Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction goals and expectations are met.
  • Provide expert-level technical, design guidance and support.
  • Prepare and present project budgets and cost estimates.
  • Mentor and guide less experienced engineers.
  • Responsible for overall QA/QC process adherence.
  • Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies.
  • Responsible for effective communication with other engineering disciplines.
  • Regularly meets and corresponds with clients or outside personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:-

Minimum Qualification:-

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical engineering or related degree from reputed institute.
  • Minimum 5 years related professional experience.
  • Basic knowledge in standard chemical engineering techniques, principles, and procedures. Associate Senior Engineer Process – (FMCG) (GFS Global Practice)
  • Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.
  • Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
  • Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Basic computer skills including process simulation software (i.e. Hysys and/or Aspen, HTRI) is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problemsolving skills.
  • Previous leadership and/or management experience is preferable.
  • Position requires the ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively mentor and provide career and technical guidance, particularly to entry-level staff.
  • Experience with Autocad , Plant 3D or similar 3D modeling software is preferred.
