Assistant Manager – Production

• Plan, organize, and control daily production activities to achieve monthly and yearly production targets.
• Ensure smooth operations of the production line with focus on timely delivery, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Coordinate with planning, purchase, and store teams to ensure raw material and component availability.
• Monitor production processes and implement measures to reduce downtime, rework, and wastage.
• Ensure strict adherence to quality standards, ISO procedures, and customer specifications.
• Supervise and guide production supervisors, shift engineers, and operators for optimal performance.
• Support in training and skill development of team members to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Work closely with the maintenance department for preventive and corrective maintenance of machines and equipment.
• Maintain compliance with all EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) regulations and promote safe working practices.
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly production reports and present performance analysis to senior management.
• Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, Kaizen, 5S, and automation projects.
• Handle manpower planning, shift management, and ensure discipline and motivation within the team.
• Act as a bridge between management and shop floor team for smooth communication and implementation of policies.

Job Responsibilities:-

Production Planning & Execution:-

• Plan and manage day-to-day production activities to achieve production targets.
• Monitor production schedules, resource allocation, and ensure timely delivery.
• Coordinate with planning and supply chain teams for raw material availability.

Process & Quality Management:-

• Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality standards (ISO, IEC, etc.).
• Work closely with the Quality team to reduce defects, rework, and wastage.
• Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and yield.

Team Management & Supervision:-

• Lead, guide, and supervise production operators and shift in-charge staff.
• Conduct training for team members on new processes, safety protocols, and equipment usage.
• Motivate and maintain discipline within the production team.

Machine & Equipment Handling:-

• Monitor machine performance and ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed.
• Coordinate with the maintenance team for breakdown handling and quick resolution.
• Ensure optimum utilization of equipment to minimize downtime.

Safety & Compliance:-

• Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring strict compliance with EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) standards.
• Conduct regular safety audits and awareness programs for the production team.

Reporting & Documentation:-

• Maintain production reports, daily logs, and analyze performance metrics.
• Share periodic MIS reports with senior management.
• Identify bottlenecks and recommend solutions for continuous improvement.
• Continuous Improvement (Kaizen/Lean/6-Sigma)
• Drive initiatives for cost reduction, process automation, and efficiency improvement.
• Support implementation of lean manufacturing and 5S practices on the shop floor.

Qualification And Experience:-

• BE Electrical & Mechanical
• Min  5+ years experience i Solar Sr. Position

• Kosamba, Gujarat & Tadkeshwer, West Bengal.
