Job Description

Blades TCM (Transport, Construction & Maintenance) is part of Aerodynamic & Mechanical department in Vestas Power Solutions (VPS, the Vestas R&D). VPS is the business unit where new product ideas are developed, matured, improved, maintained and tested. VPS operates on a global scale with more than 3,600 employees.
The TCM group within Blades Module is responsible for developing and maintaining solutions (processes, tools and support documents) for transport, installation and service of Vestas blades worldwide. We are involved in new turbine development as well as maintenance and optimization of solutions for the existing fleet.

Responsibilities:-

  • Understand TCM business – requirements, design, verification, inspection, maintenance and operation of our solutions
  • Collect, understand and negotiate customer requirements
  • Design TCM solutions – full design lifecycle from requirements to serial implementation – with safety and quality, on time and on cost targets
  • Design tools and perform structural analysis based on Eurocode 3
  • Perform solution verification on the field
  • Ensure quality of your deliverables and of your peers
  • Manage design risks of your solutions, tools, processes, drawings or documents
  • Contribute for knowledge management and lessons learned continuously
  • Contribute for business processes improvements and product improvements
  • Contribute to cost reduction and improve quality through standardization, modularization and process efficiency improvements
  • Ensure cross functional collaboration with relevant interface owners throughout the value chain

Qualifications And Experience:-

  • Bachelor / Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or allied disciplines (Heavy Engineering, Naval architecture, Ocean Engineering, etc.)
  • Minimum 5 yrs. (2-3 yrs. in Transport, Construction & Maintenance) experience in Product design in Heavy Engineering Industry
  • Experience in Structural Engineering, i.e., FE analysis, analytical calculation, D-FMEA, Eurocode 3
  • Experience with Ansys and Workbench are preferred
  • Experience with Mathcad or Python are beneficial
  • Experience in a multi-cultural environment with an international organization is good to have
  • Knowledge of transport, installation or maintenance of heavy/complex loads is beneficial
  • Knowledge of wind turbine blades is beneficial

  • Effective communication skills and fluency in English (speaking and writing)
  • Experience with lifting tools and processes
  • Exposure to operational environment of transport or lifting of special loads
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma or Design for Six Sigma is beneficial
  • Knowledge of LEAN is beneficial
