Job Description

The Asia Pacific HSE Lead will provide Line Management guidance in defining health and safety risks, needed corrective actions, and implementation of risk management plans. He/she is accountable for behavioral based health and safety, regulatory and environmental compliance throughout the Asia Pacific Region. Responsible for overseeing functional areas within while providing support of safety and regulatory compliance matters.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:-

  • Support Operations deployment of Sensia HSE Management System across the Asia Pacific Region, particularly HSE program implementation, to ensure safety is part of Sensia’s day-to-day operations.
  • Leads the Health, Safety and Environment Team, while managing the environmental, industrial, health and safety compliance.
  • To develop, implement, and monitor company HSE programs and policies to ensure compliance with applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Working knowledge of local regulations. Effectively communicate Sensia culture and operating philosophies of Safety First and Zero Incidents.
  • Support Line Management in the development and implementation of their Safety Improvement Plans.
  • Assisting Business Units with the development of safe systems of work, RAMS. Focal point for Fire Safety at the Sensia facilities.
  • Ensure implementation of corporate incident management program including the review and effectiveness of the Asia Pacific incident reports, investigations, and Corrective Action Plan.
  • Support/Participate in Incident Reviews.
  • Support development and deployment of the Corporate HSE training and education program.
  • Monitor and support the Asia Pacific utilization of web based LMS (Learning Management System) including the development of HSE training packages and delivery of training.
  • Support regulatory claims tracking, investigation, and management process.
  • Liaise with Human Resources and Line Management on injury management and early return-to-work.
  • Respond to Request for Proposals (RFPs) for efforts related to HSE activities, including developing and maintaining documents for responding to RFPs specific to the UK.
  • Support compliance with HSE record keeping requirements, including corporate and regulatory compliance program documentation (e.g., auditing, training, medical, and any regulatory records etc.).
  • Respond to client requests for statistics and audits along with managing Client driven third party requirements.
  • Liaison with Statutory authorities, such as Environment Agency and H&S Executive.
  • Periodically analyse regional HSE statistics (at least quarterly) and report on trends and recommend actions to improve Asia Pacific HSE performance.
  • Coordinate with and participate in the Corporate HSE audit/inspection program.
  • Develop written programs as required by rules and regulations.
  • Assist with contractor assessments and pre-qualification.
  • Report to Sensia Eastern Hemisphere HSE Manager on a scheduled, periodic basis and undertake relevant ad-hoc projects, initiatives, tasks as directed.
  • Participation in periodic Corporate HSE planning meetings and develop action plans, as needed.

Experience and Competencies:

  • 5+ years of occupational HSE work experience.
  • Working knowledge of risk recognition, assessment, and control techniques.
  • Demonstrable success in managing safety systems.
  • Competency with incident investigation process and Corrective Action Plan implementation.
  • Effective communication skills including verbal and report writing.
  • Ability to manage projects and conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to be sensitive to operational issues and understanding customer needs.
  • Planning, organizing and time management skills to effectively establish the priority and scheduling of work tasks and projects to ensure work priorities are completed on time and within budget.
  • Excellent communicate, both written and verbal, with various levels of line management, field personnel, third party contractors, clients, and government agencies.
  • NEBOSH, Tech IOSH or equivalent preferred.
  • Working knowledge of local/national regulations is required.
