DuPont’s Solamet PV20A is the company’s latest front-side silver paste designed specifically for P-type solar cells

DuPont Photovoltaics Solutions has launched the newest innovation to its DuPont Solamet photovoltaic metallization paste at 2017 SNEC Photovoltaic Power Expo in Shanghai. The company showcased DuPont Solamet PV20A at its booth in the event.

DuPont’s Solamet PV20A is the company’s latest front-side silver paste designed specifically for P-type solar cells. Solamet PV20A is designed to be used in both Lightly Doped Emitter (LDE) and Passivated Emitter Rear Cell (PERC) solar cell construction. Solamet PV20A provides further aspect ratio improvement and superior contact, resulting in a more than 0.1 percent improvement in efficiency compared to other metallization pastes used by the industry. Solamet PV20A was developed to enable exceptional ultrafine line printing and contact performance with lower firing temperature, and is ideally suited to maximize efficiency for the most demanding conventional and PERC architectures while also ensuring reliable production performance.

Solamet PV20A is just the latest in more than 130 innovations of Solamet that consistently enable our customers to improve power output and reduce total system installation costs,” said Chuck Xu, global business director, DuPont Photovoltaic & Advanced Materials. “Through DuPont’s comprehensive presence at SNEC, we are pleased to showcase the products and experts that enable DuPont to develop the high quality, high reliability material innovations that make us a leader in the photovoltaic industry.”

DuPont Solamet new generation front side silver paste is already being used by several solar panel manufacturers, and two customer collaborations highlighted at DuPont’s booth demonstrated how Solamet PV20A achieves increased efficiency and power output on mono- and multi-PERC modules. Taiwan Solar Energy Company (TSEC), which specializes in manufacturing high performance, top quality mono- and polycrystalline silicon solar cells and modules,  demonstrates how it has observed 21.15 percent cell efficiency and module power output as high as 305 Watts (60 pcs) in its V-Series mono PERC modules using Solamet PV20A. Another successful Solamet PV20x adoption comes from REC, a leading vertically integrated solar energy company. The latest REC TwinPeak 2 Series, 60-cell multicrystalline solar panel, rated up to 295 Wp, deliver at least 20 Wp more per panel compared to standard 60-cell multicrystalline. The new heights are result from the combination of REC TwinPeak technologies and DuPont Solamet PV20x, which enables efficiency enhancement on multi PERC.

In addition to introducing Solamet PV20A, DuPont also showcased Solamet Interconnect Paste, an innovative new product development, designed with unique chemistry for PV applications as a replacement for traditional solder materials and adhesives. It enables advanced cell and module assembly with more flexibility and convenience in use.
